MINISTRY OF WORSHIP AND SPIRITUAL CARE
This ministry will assume the roles of the Board of Deacons, Music Committee, Flower Committee and Pastoral Relations Committee. It shall be responsible for the worship activity and spiritual life of our church, and assessing and supporting the relationship between our pastor and the congregation. It will consist of up to seventeen members.*
MINISTRY OF GOVERNING AND FINANCES
This ministry will assume the roles of the Board of Trustees and By-Laws Committee. It shall be responsible for the care and keeping of the church properties and its financial affairs, preparing an annual budget, reviewing the church’s by-laws as needed, overseeing our church’s technology tools, and providing for an annual audit of our church’s finances. It will consist of up to nine members.*
MINISTRY OF MEMBERS, FRIENDS AND CHURCH LIFE
This ministry will assume the roles of the Membership Committee, Hospitality Committee and Nominating Committee. It shall be responsible for seeking individuals to serve as ministers on each of the six Ministry classifications of our church; maintaining an accurate, updated list of prospective members; showing care, concern and appreciation for members of the church; Communicating about and promoting the church, church events and church activities through the church’s website and other media channels; securing greeters for worship services; welcoming visitors, and securing hosts for “neighboring” (coffee hour) after the worship service. It will consist of up to nine members.*
MINISTRY OF CHRISTIAN OUTREACH AND STEWARDSHIP
This ministry will assume the roles of the Missions Committee and Stewardship Committee. It shall be responsible for reviewing the mission needs of and requests to the church, overseeing the food pantry, and planning and promoting mission activities and special offerings of financial support in response to particularly significant needs. It shall also be responsible for conducting the church’s annual stewardship campaign to raise funds in support of our church’s everyday missions and ministries. It will consist of up to nine members.*
MINISTRY OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
This ministry will assume the role of the Christian Education Committee. It shall be responsible for maintaining the educational programs of our church, in particular the Sunday School and Youth Group programs, by securing the services of Sunday School teachers, Youth Group leaders and other volunteers as needed. It will consist of up to seven members.*
MINISTRY OF AUDIT
This ministry will assume the role of the Audit Committee. It shall be responsible for examining the church books and report at the Annual Meeting. It will consist of up to three members.
Note: Autonomous groups in the church that do not belong to any of the above-mentioned Ministries are: the Pastoral Relations Ministry, the Church Audit Ministry, the Counters Ministry, the Technology Oversight Ministry, The Senior Choir, Adult and Children’s Bell Choir, the Children’s Choir, the Food Pantry Ministry, the Women’s Fellowship and the Men’s Fellowship.
*Members of all ministries are nominated and elected annually, for one-year terms. There are no term limits, so a member may remain on a ministry for as many terms as they feel called to serve.
