Outreach Overview
First Congregational Church of Scarborough is deeply involved in the community in a variety of ways. In addition to direct financial contributions to our Missions group as funded from the members and friends of the church, our congregation donates countless hours of their time in support of our local Food Pantry and many other organizations and causes. We are so fortunate to have such a loving, caring church family who demonstrate their commitment to community and fellow human beings every day. First Congregational Church of Scarborough directly manages and financially supports a Food Pantry for the benefit of the local community, staffs a Missions group that evaluates local and national organizations to determine where our ministry can have the most impact, directly provides clothing and household goods to local homeless shelters and other organizations serving the public, and rents out our facilities out to local community groups such as the Scout programs and dependency mitigation groups — often at subsidized rental rates.
