WHAT'S HAPPENING! ![]() EASTER SUNDAY
What a glorious (but very windy) Easter Sunday! We hope you were able to join us for one of our services today. Our first service was at 5:40 a.m. on Higgins Beach. When we arrived it was a balmy 61° and the sky was starting to get pink. It’s always a lovely service to start your Easter morning. Our second service was at 9:30 a.m. in the church. It’s always decorated so well with lilies and spring plants. We had special music today by Logan Peters and Ryder-Rose Haines. And the sermon is always inspiring. We also had a fun Children’s Time (for those who are young at heart) with Rev. Linda. She has a special multi-colored chicken who only lays eggs at Easter. Rev. Linda calls them Hallelujah Eggs! She passed them out to all the “kids” and told them on the count of 3 to squeeze them hard, throw them in the air and yell Hallelujah. To everyone’s surprise, confetti rained down! It was a fun Children’s Time for sure! |

![]() Inclement Weather Policy
If there is a significant storm on Saturday night or it is storming on Sunday morning, make sure you check to see if the Sunday service has been cancelled. The First Congregational Church of Scarborough is registered with WCSH and WGME TV, and a cancellation notice will run on both of those stations by 7:00 a.m. You can also call the church office at 883-2342 to find out if the parking lot has been plowed and is safe to walk on and the church is accessible. The Admin Assistant will either be in the office or leave a message on the answering machine by 7:30 a.m. if the service has been cancelled. If the service has been cancelled, it will also be posted on our Facebook page. If the answering machine has not been updated, that means there will be a service of some kind - although it may be an abbreviated one. Please use discretion in deciding whether to attend church in bad weather. |
