- I need someone to pray with me.
One of the most important blessings a church community can offer its members, friends and community is prayer. There are several ways that the First Congregational Church of Scarborough can pray with and for you. Every Sunday during worship we receive written prayer requests from the congregation, and they are incorporated into the pastor's prayer. We also have a ministry to individuals called Stephen Ministry, where well-trained lay ministers can meet with you, counsel and support you, and offer prayers for you. And of course, Pastor Gagnon will gladly offer prayers if you request him to do so. You can call the church office at 883-2342 if you want to know more or wish to make a request for prayer. - I need transportation to a medical appointment.
The First Congregational Church of Scarborough has a list of individuals who are willing to provide transportation for people who need rides to a doctor's appointment or other places. This ministry is overseen by our Board of Deacons. Call the church office at 883-2342 for more information and to be put in touch with a ride volunteer.Back to top
- Can I request/receive support from the First Congregational Church of Scarborough for issues such as physical and mental health problems, programs for developmentally disabled adults and addiction treatment?
The First Congregational Church of Scarborough hosts an Alcoholics Anonymous group and can offer lay ministry support through our Stephen Ministers program. Also, its pastor can provide limited pastoral counseling to individuals who are not in need of a specialized and more highly trained mental health provider. For more information about the kind of support we can offer, you can contact the church office at 883-2341.Back to top
