  • I NEED SOMEONE TO PRAY WITH/FOR ME.
One of the most important blessings a church community can offer its members, friends and community is prayer. There are several ways that the First Congregational Church of Scarborough can pray with and for you. Every Sunday during worship we receive written prayer requests from the congregation, and they are incorporated into the pastor's prayer. We also have a ministry to individuals called Stephen's Ministry, where well-trained lay ministers can meet with you, counsel and support you, and offer prayers for you. And of course, our pastor will gladly offer prayers if you request him/her to do so. You can call the church office at 207-883-2342 if you want to know more or wish to make a request for prayer.

  • CAN I REQUEST/RECEIVE SUPPORT FROM THE FIRST CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH OF SCARBOROUGH FOR PHYSICAL OR MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS, PROGRAMS FOR DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED ADULTS AND ADDICTION TREATMENT?
The First Congregational Church of Scarborough hosts an Alcoholics Anonymous group and can offer lay ministry support through our Stephen's Ministry program. Also, its pastor can provide limited pastoral counseling to individuals who are not in need of a specialized and more highly trained mental health provider. For more information about the kind of support we can offer, you can contact the church office at 207-883-2341.
